Thanks to the work of our Chair, Cynthia Mitchell and Lillian King Boyd, our Secretary, who coordinated with Gaylene Kanoyten we registered over 40 people for healthcare on
Saturday in only 3 hours. Delegate Dance, Congressman Bobby Scott, Petersburg Mayor, Brian Moore, and Hopewell Vice-Mayor Jasmine Gore came as did the Progress-Index and Channel 6 News. Hopewell Chair, Bettie Washington, and Prince George Dems, Robert Rose, Joyce Street, and Carol Woodward also assisted in the event.
Katherine Johnson of the Progress-Index got the opportunity to interview people who had actually been able to enroll in healthcare. Some of their stories were published in the Sunday Progress-Index.
The PGDems co-sponsored this event with the Health and Wellness Ministry of Zion Baptist Church, HCA Health Care Systems.
Come to the meeting and learn what else we have been up to.
